If
you’d much rather lounge around the house in your flowery bra and
dotted skivvies, I strongly recommend hitting the sales next week.
But if you’re dying inside, thinking of that cute purse standing
all alone in that big scary store, about to fall in the hands of some
undeserving shopping floozy or worse, you’re picturing that perfect
little black dress being bought by a woman who does not accessorize,
it is your duty to fight the heat, and remind yourself that it’s
all for a good cause: SALES!
Some
time ago I’ve stumbled upon the Ten Commandments of Sales. Here
they are!
1.
THOU SHALT NOT COVET DOUBLES.
Fling open those closets, survey your shoe stacks. Make sure you have
a firm grasp on what you actually need. If you’re about to buy the
tenth pair of sandals, remember that “basic” and “banal” have
nothing to do with each other.
2.
THOU SHALT NOT TAKE YOUR BUDGET IN VAIN. Use
the weekend right before the big day to take notes on what each store
has to offer, and keep track of the initial price. Make sure to
be thorough. It is very important that each purchase is truly
worth it.
3.
THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER CULT CLOTHING BEFORE ME. We
all have it. That one perfect little item of clothing that is usually
(way) out of our budget, but that now, thanks to sales, is finally
within our reach. And you’re thinking: it’s perfect; it’s
everything I’ve always wanted... But it’s still pricey! This is
the whole point of sales, so go ahead and splurge, just this once.
Unless this single leather skirt will set you back an entire
paycheck, act now or you will always regret not getting it when you
had the chance.
4.
HONOR THY ACTIVE WEAR. Sales
are not the time to dress up. Say yes to comfy shoes and shoulder
bags. Make sure you can undress and redress in the shortest time
possible. If you can, eliminate accessories and layers.
5.
THOU SHALT NOT MAKE CALLS IN VAIN. Sales
shopping is a strictly solitary activity. If you really need a second
opinion your mom will do – but not if you’re the same size. You
wouldn’t want to skirmish with your best friend over that fabulous
half-off top, would you?
6.
THOU SHALT NOT COVET TOMORROW WHAT YOU MAY POSSESS TODAY. If
you wait, all the good clothes may be gone.
7.
REMEMBER THE END OF SALES, TO KEEP IT HOLY. While
it is perfectly acceptable to make one last round the last week of
sales, snag that last 70% off item off the shelves,
8.
THOU SHALT NOT BE AN IDIOT. It
is NOT ok to start eyeballing the fall/winter collection! And
remember to save all receipts in case you have a change of heart the
next day.
9.
THOU SHALT NOT KILL. in
the name of sales.
10.
THOU SHALT NOT STEAL. But
everything else is fair game.

mentalmente: Saldi!
In
1.
NON DESIDERARE I DOPPIONI.
Spalancate le scarpiere e aprite gli armadi. Cercate di capire di
cosa veramente avete bisogno.
3.
NON AVRAI ALTRO CAPO CULT ALL’INFUORI DI ME.
Dire saldo equivale a dire risparmio?
4.
ONORA L’ABBIGLIAMENTO COMODO. Non
è il giorno per fare le splendide. Sì a scarpe comode, borse a
tracolla, a stivali e a vestitini. Togli e metti nel meno tempo
possibile.
5.
NON CHIAMARE PERSONE INVANO. Ai
saldi si va da sole. Sempre. Si solo per la mamma.
6.
NON DESIDERARE DOMANI QUELLO CHE POTETE AVERE OGGI. Non
è detto che lo troverete.
7.
perdere tempo all’inizio.
8.
NON COMMETTERE STRONZATE. Eh
9.
NON UCCIDERE in
nome dei Saldi.
10.
NON RUBARE
ma tutto il resto sì.
